How It Works

This tool renders STL (Stereolithography) files using WebGL directly in your browser. STL is the standard file format for 3D printing and CAD applications.

Controls

  • Rotate: Click and drag to rotate the model
  • Zoom: Scroll wheel to zoom in and out
  • Pan: Right-click and drag or Shift+click to pan
  • Views: Use the preset view buttons for standard orientations

Supported Formats

  • Binary STL: Compact binary format (most common)
  • ASCII STL: Text-based format with facet/vertex definitions

Dimension Overlay

The dimension overlay shows the bounding box of the model with width (X), depth (Y), and height (Z) measurements in the model's native units. This is useful for verifying scale before 3D printing.
